About

Welcome to the Finn and I! I’m Erica. I’m married to a Finnish guy I met while playing poker in Arizona. Eleven months later we were married in Las Vegas.
After lots of paperwork and a meeting with INS, my husband received his green card, and landed a job in Cincinnati. We packed our stuff and headed to the Midwest. There we had two kids, Finn sleddingGirl and Little Finn, and learned we had a strong dislike for Skyline Chili and the Cincinnati Reds, both local staples.
I quit my daytime job as a Realtor to stay home and raise the kids, an equally unrewarding and awesome job. I learned to embrace yoga pants and red wine during the first years I stayed at home.
A new job uprooted us to the Seattle area in 2014. It’s here I’m honing my domestic skills, adding bits of my husband’s Finnish culture into our lives, and focusing on writing and blogging.
So pull up a chair, grab a drink and help me fold some laundry while reading my tales of trying to teach my children to not be heathens, incorporating Finnish customs into our lives, and how to live a green life.
